Youngest Son Finds Peace in Joseph's Story

BENONI, SOUTH AFRICA-The story I enjoy most in the Old Testament is found in Genesis, chapters 37-50. It is the story of Joseph, the son of Jacob, who was envied by his brothers and sold into Egypt. These chapters deal with the way we should control ourselves in this life.

The story of Joseph has helped me deal with challenges in my own life.

I was born in a family of six, the last child in a family of five boys and one girl. My mother passed away when I was 2 years old. Then my father married another woman who had four children-three boys and one girl.

We were all brought up knowing that we are all the same and all equal. We were taught how to live the Lord's way. But as we grew and realized that we had different parents, little jealousies started to creep in. We started pointing out how my stepmother loves her children more than she does us, and how my father cared more about his new wife than about his children.
