Zebedaios

Zebedaios {dzeb-ed-ah'-yos}
Greek: personal noun masculine

Possible Definitions:
1) Zebedee meaning "my gift", was a fisherman of Galilee, the father of the apostles James the Great and John, and the husband of Salome. He probably lived either at Bethsaida or its immediate neighbourhood. It has been inferred from the mention of "hired servants,' (Mk. 1:20) and the acquaintance of the apostle John and Annas the high priest, that the family of Zebedee were in easy circumstances, although not above manual labour. In the NT he is seen by his boat with his two sons mending their nets.
