Possible Definitions:
1) in the morning, early. Used of the fourth watch of the night, i.e. from 3 o'clock in the morning until 6 o'clock according to our reckoning. The times would vary with the seasons and the latitude. From sundown to sunrise was divided into four equal time periods called watches. The last night watch was the fourth watch. The fourth watch would be longest in the winter time and shortest in the summer.
