Greek: personal noun masculine

Possible Definitions:
1) Timothy meaning "honouring God" was the son of a mixed marriage. It appears his father died when he was still young and he was raised by his mother and grandmother according to strict Jewish traditions. He was a resident of either Lystra or Derbe. When Paul and Barnabas arrived in 44 A.D. his family was converted. Tradition states that he was Bishop of Ephesus and died a martyr's death under Domitian or Nerva.
