Foreword

These six talks on The Signs of the Times were delivered at the request of the sisters who have charge of the Lion House Social Center. The first talk was given October 14, 1942, in the large recreation rooms in the Lion House, but the attendance was so great that it was decided that the five other talks should be given in Barratt Hall each Wednesday night until the six were completed. It was very gratifying to see that building filled to its capacity each night with people who were all greatly interested in the development of events which are unfolding in these days of fulfillment of the words of the prophets. It is true that the hearts of men are failing them while the whole world is torn asunder by vicious, deadly strife, indicating that the great day of the Lord is near, even at our doors. Under these conditions the Saints have been commanded to stand in holy places and be not moved and to turn their hearts in humility and faith and look for the fulfilling of the promises of the coming of the glorious reign of Millennial peace.

There have been so many requests for these articles that it becomes necessary to have them produced in pamphlet form. Let it be understood that much more might have been said of the deepest interest in relation to the Signs of the Times, than could be said in six limited public discourses. I have taken the liberty to add a few other vital thoughts to help round out what had previously been said. In these discussions speculation and uncertain conclusions I have tried to avoid and merely present the facts as they have been predicted by the seers and as we see them unfolding each day before our eyes.
